John, Pete, the doctor and his family waited uneasily for the plane to arrive. I started to get really worried, then I heard the faint sound of a plane’s engine and with the help of the moonlight I could see a single engine biplane.
We quickly lit the signal fires, Pete got on the radio to guide them in.
The plane was about to touch down when several vehicles full of armed men rushed onto the strip. I grabbed the microphone from Pete’s hand and shouted, “Abort, abort, hostile forces!”
